Deb Courtney, PhD, LCSW, MA is a professor at CUNY, The City University of New York (New York City College of Technology) in the Health and Human Service Department. Her research and clinical specialties include trauma treatment, spirituality and wellness, and global service. 

Deb is a licensed clinical social worker. She has a private practice where she provides a safe space for clients of all ages and cultures discover inner freedom and their limitless potential! Deb is passionate about equality for all, helping people find their voice, and making a positive impact on the world!

She also is the Creator of the internationally sold therapeutic tool, The EMDR Journey Game, which helps make EMDR, an evidence based trauma treatment, more accessible to young clients during their healing process. Deb is Co-Owner of Pine Grove Country Day School, where her siblings and she take pride in creating an environment where children are educated and nurtured to foster their confidence and love of learning. She is also a board member of the non-profit, Humanity Unified, working toward the incredible mission of lifting vulnerable populations out of poverty through education, food security programs and economic opportunities. 

During self care time, you will find Deb hiking, practicing yoga, hanging with her family and friends, playing with her dog, writing in her journal, or traveling around the world learning about other cultures and engaging in reflective and self growth activities.
